Pursuant to the provisions of the United States Constitution, Congress has passed the current patent statue “…To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries.” The costs of obtaining a patent can represent a significant hurdle for individual inventors or small companies. But these costs are miniscule compared to the cost of enforcing a patent in court against infringers.  Enpat was founded in 1995 to help the small inventor profit from his invention.
